Fairy Garden

There is magic in gardening!

Spring arrived and along with it, came dreams and inspirations.

Everything I come across turns into a project. Here’s just one example. I met a lady named Colleen Moir who shared with me her passion for gardening and her Fairy Gardens. Until then I didn’t know Fairy Gardening was a popular hobby or that it had so many enthusiasts. Many aspects of the idea of creating a fantasy land were very appealing to me.

I find gardening therapeutical on many levels. Now, with fairies, gnomes and whimsical creatures, it turned it into something magical.

I instantly fell in love with the idea of creating a fairy garden myself!

How I got started

There are several sites online I found that carry Fairy Garden items. I started with a shopping spree on http://amazon.com and also collected items around my home that I thought would add some authenticity to my project.

I decided to build mine under a tree in our backyard garden where I have some orchids hanging. As my Fairy Land was growing, I started using the texture of the roots to create the space, road ways, gathering places and so on…

I now have a bird-feeder, dream-catcher, lights, a wind-chime, birdhouse, and there are very often visitors like ducks, birds and even fairies!

I have already involved many family members and friends in the making of my enchanted land. Also I have been gifting friends items like gnomes and fairies to incentive  them to start building their own Fairy Garden.

I’m excited to share with you some pictures of what my Fairy Garden is becoming. There is no end to this fun.

Ideas for your own Fairy Garden

Even if you don’t have much space, don’t worry, you can still make your enchanting space in a flower bed or container. Check: http://miniaturegardenshoppe.com for more ideas and visit your local arts and crafts stores. My favorite arts and crafts store is: https://www.michaels.com.

I must warn you: once you start this hobby, you may not want to stop.

All you need is an imagination and to believe!
